The episode starts out with a repeat of the scene where the details of the contract are discovered.

Sitting in a different room in the building, Tsuzuki suggested that maybe they give Hijiri another surgery to replace the cornea, but Watari pointed out that the contract now belonged to Hijiri so it wouldn't work. Watari and the GuShoShin were researching to find out which devil it is that Tatsuya made the contract with, but they were still unsuccessful. Tsuzuki told Hijiri not to worry because he and Hisoka would protect him, but Hisoka told Tsuzuki not to make promises he couldn't keep because he'd be the one getting hurt in the end, then walked off to go to a meeting with Konoe.

On his way to meet Konoe, Hisoka ran into Tatsumi who asked how he was finding his life as a Shinigami. Hisoka told Tatsumi he wasn't quite sure yet, and mentioned that he was training with magic so that he could be as strong as Tsuzuki. When Hisoka commented on Tsuzuki's kindness, Tatsumi told him that Tsuzuki is serious and never lies, and that he knew he and Tsuzuki will get along well.

Back in the room Tsuzuki told Hijiri that he and Kazusa would stay in JuOhCho where they would be safe, but Hijiri wouldn't stand for that. He didn't want to spend his life hiding, and besides, he had a concert coming up that he refused to miss. Since he was so determined Tsuzuki couldn't help but let him have his way.

So Hijiri returned to his normal life, but the devil didn't sit by and do nothing. First a basketball net almost fell on him in gym class, but Tsuzuki saved him. Then a car almost hit him, but again Tsuzuki saved him. Then when he was walking along a rockslide almost crushed him, and Tsuzuki saved him, but not without the help of Hisoka. After all the attempts on his life Hijiri finally realized that he couldn't win and Tsuzuki reminded him that if he died Kazusa would as well, so Hijiri agreed to return to JuOhCho.

In EnMaCho Watari was continued to research the devil to no avail, and the GuShoShin couldn't help but notice how happy he was to be challenged.

Tsuzuki, Hisoka and Hijiri went to get Kazusa so they could take her to JuOhCho. In her young, innocent little way she told Hijiri they couldn't be friends anymore because the last time she saw him there was a scary thing behind him. Hisoka and Tsuzuki didn't take her words lightly, suspecting that she might have actually seen something.

Hijiri packed up all his belongings at his home; Kazusa had gone on ahead to JuOhCho with Hisoka and Tsuzuki was down in Hijiri's kitchen making him curry rice (which nearly killed Hijiri when Tsuzuki gave him a taste test XD). Hijiri decided to try out his new (and non-evil) violin, but when he started playing the devil appeared before him and told him to go to the violin, that it was a part of him, and the devil would give him wealth and glory. In the kitchen, Tsuzuki became worried when Hijiri didn't answer his calls for dinner, and when he went to Hijiri's room it was empty, the window was wide open, and sheets of music were scattered all over the floor.

Hijiri went to his school where the evil violin was hidden in a cabinet in the nurse's office, and when Tsuzuki found him there he was playing it, once again possessed. Coming to in JuOhCho, Hijiri was saddened to know he had been possessed once again. He then told Tsuzuki he had a favor to ask.

Watari and the GuShoShin were still researching as Kazusa sat and watched. She noticed a picture on the computer screen of a dog-like demon and told them she had seen it before. Watari said it was bad when he saw which devil she was pointing at, and Tsuzuki chose that moment to enter the room.

Hijiri took Kazusa to his school, and in the auditorium he gave her a private violin performance. As he played the devil appeared behind him, but was prevented from attacking him by a shield. The devil was surprised by that, and then Tsuzuki appeared and told the devil he had grown tired of waiting. Watari got Hijiri out of harm's way as Tsuzuki and the devil, Sargatanas (one of the highest beasts of the underworld), faced off. Sargatanas breathed fire at Tsuzuki but he flew out of the way each time. The battle moved outside, Sargatanas bursting from the auditorium and creating a large hole in the roof.

The Shinigami were impressed with the devil's strength. Tsuzuki told Hisoka and Watari to take care of Hijiri, then summoned Byakko, a large white tiger Shikigami. Sargatanas decided to use his trump card, and suddenly Hijiri felt a stabbing pain in his eye. Hijiri ran towards Tsuzuki and Tsuzuki, distracted by the boy, didn't have time to dodge Sargatanas' attack. The devil clamped on to Tsuzuki's shoulder with his sharp fangs and the two of them plummeted towards the earth. Tsuzuki called for Byakko, and Byakko shot a ball of energy at the devil and he disappeared.

Back on solid ground, Tsuzuki fell to his knees and blood dripped from his shoulder where he had been bitten. Watari ran to him and promptly stripped off all of Tsuzuki's clothes, to his great surprise. Tsuzuki said he didn't know Watari had been that kind of guy all along, but Watari quite vehemently corrected him and told him that devils such as Sargatanas didn't actually have bodies and if Tsuzuki had been taken as Sargatanas' host a mark would have appeared on his body. Glad to be unaffected, Tsuzuki put his clothes back on and stood, wincing at the pain in his shoulder. Hijiri expressed concern but Tsuzuki told him he would be fine.

Alone, Tsuzuki went to the nurse's office, but he was barely a few paces into the door when blood burst from his shoulder and the voice of Sargatanas told him he was taking over Tsuzuki's cells one by one. Tsuzuki tried to fight him but Sargatanas was quite happy with his new host. He fell to his knees and a black "X" appeared on Tsuzuki's shoulder where he had been bitten. The devil told Tsuzuki he should be honoured, and black wings sprouted from Tsuzuki's back. Tsuzuki stood up, now completely under control of Sargatanas.

Comments: The ending is just gorgeous. Really, really gorgeous. And Watari stripping Tsuzuki down has YET to fail to make me smile! And I want Tsuzuki to make me curry rice. *dreams*
