MINASE HIJIRI

A student at a prominent music school, Hijiri needed a cornea transplant but after the surgery his life was turned upside down; it seems the cornea he received contained a pact with a devil the donor had made, and now the pact belonged to Hijiri. All he wanted to do was live out his life and play his violin solo at a school concert, but that's never easy when an angry devil is out to kill you. As well, his new violin just happens to be an evil instrument that eventually drives the owner to suicide. It's a good thing Hijiri has his new Shinigami friends to help him out.

Takayama Minami was Hijiri's seiyuu, and you might recognize her as Dilandau and Prince Chid from Escaflowne, Tendou Nabiki from Ranma 1/2, or Ascot from Rayearth.

OTONASHI KAZUSA

The daughter of Otonashi Tatsuya, the man who donated his cornea to Hijiri, she was sought out by Hijiri so he could thank her for her father's kind act. Hijiri found her living under the care of a nun, because after her father's death she was left an orphan. She's a sweet little girl who befriended Hijiri instantly, though what no one knows is that she has the ability to see things (for example, she once was the only one to see Sargatanas when he was standing behind Hijiri).

Kazusa's voice was provided by Kawakami Tomoko.

SURGATANUS

Surgatanus is one of the highest beasts of the underworld, and the devil that made the pact with Kazusa's father. He's not pleased that the contract wasn't fulfilled with Tatsuya's death and is doing everything in his power to kill Hijiri so he can claim his prize: Tatsuya's most cherished thing, Kazusa. Surgatanus doesn't have an actual form, he is in fact like a parasite, and lives in the body of a host.

Surgatanus' voice was provided by Sawaki Ikuya.
